Travel to Europe with Kids Savings in 2015

Dad and Two Kids at Stain StationFamily travel on a budget? Go ahead take the kids to Europe. There are a few things which make this a great time to see the history, charm and fascination of Europe with the family. First of all the Euro is down, down, down! Last year about this time the euro was $1.34, this spring it’s down to its lowest value, almost since it first came out, $1.12 or there about as it floats around. So hotels and meals will be considerably easier on the budget, especially if you start reserving now, because it might go up a bit in summer. On top of that, in 2015, travel by train in Europe has never been better for a family going together, forget the rental car and the lines at an airport with tiny baggage restrictions! The Eurail systems and Rail Europe are offering Family Deal Rail Passes where kids (under 12 or under 16, depending) ride for free with an adult. Two children free with each adult, with a mom and dad, that’s four kids! Hey, take the neighbor kid!

Going to Switzerland? Okay you’ve heard that the Swiss ended a Euro support program, so that the Swiss Franc went way up against the Euro. But not against the dollar! So, just be sure not to get all Euros and try to exchange them in Switzerland, that’s a really bad bargain, but buy Swiss Francs with dollars, you’re about the same as last year. And with the Swiss Rail System adults with a Swiss Rail Pass through Rail Europe or direct outlets, when you get a FREE Family Card, two children under 16 travel for free, including the free museums and discounts on cable cars, etc.

Take the family to St Moritz in the Swiss Alps, you can get the Engadine Family Deal this summer, where with two hotel nights in St Moritz or the Engadine Region, the kids ride for free on the cable cars to the mountain tops.
