Family Time in Ireland the Summer

Take the family – the kids and the gramps to Ireland this summer to Find Your Irish Ancestors if the volcano ash clears. The Dublin Hop-on Hop Off Sightseeing bus is letting kids ride free with adults – for the grand folks,  seniors over 66 can get an Irish Rail Pass for free! (Thru Dec 2010). It’s called the Golden Trekker Pass – call Tourism Ireland at 800 SHAMROCK (1-800-7426-7625) at least 48 hours prior to arrival in Ireland to arrange for the deal.

What to do in Dublin? Catch a Literary Tour at Trinity College and see the Book of Kells, learn how to pour the perfect pint at the Guinness Storehouse, or learn about Irish Whiskeys at Jameson’s, see the stuffed animals at the Dead Zoo and Collins Barracks, discover Vikings in Dublin at Dublinia the Normans at St Audoens or Georgian Dublin at the City Hall.  Take a tour of Malahide Castle or savor fresh caught fish Irish style at Howth Village.
